A few months back, my friend suggested me to lead Medical Camp, being afraid up to take the responsibility, I gave him a sign of disagreement, and his reply was just a nod saying that I will be fine. “The beautiful thing about fear is, when you run to it, it runs away” Robin Sharma quoted once. Holding on to those wise words and putting my trust on my friend, I took the project into my hands. As promised, my friend was there for me throughout the project, holding me firm whenever I stumble. Never knew the first guy I met in university would turn out to be one of my strongest pillar. A brother–like figure, Deva is to me.
Sitting down at a café near to our hostel, within minutes we discussed and came up with the committee’s list. Born was a family of dedicated and supportive people; Kesavan, Gajjhen, Muthu, Deva, Shanba, Kavi, Thines, Arvind, Kethis, ,Yuva, Vikna, Neeru, Sakti and Kartika. Together, we worked towards one goal, burying the need to serve the community with love and passion. Like any other team, we had our arguments and misunderstandings which led us to better roads making it easier to cross the bridges. And I wouldn’t deny the fact that there were holes in my leadership, as I believe, making mistakes is better than faking perfections. One must learn to give and receive critics, defending our flaws will bring us to nowhere. Despite everything, we made a WONDERFUL TEAM and I couldn’t have asked for better. A million thanks, I owe to each and one of them. (All the first and second years.) Shall the dramas be in our memories to be laughed upon in the future.
Also, I would like to thank all our seniors for molding us to who we are today. Without your coaching and guidance during our first year, we definitely wouldn’t have done it. Special thanks to Tharveen ne , Uma ne, Vishnuwaaran ne, Mark ne, Joanna, Abbirami ka, Mohaaneesh ne and Thava ka for your advices and support, Vinessa akka for your medical equipment, Kisnan anne and Melvin for driving the publicity team around and for all those who attended the event.
